The closing, balsamic phase of the Lunar Cycle is a time for release, especially as the last Full Moon was one of the two Scorpio Full Moons we will have this year. It’s like we get a second chance to let go of what no longer serves us, and allow transformation at a deep level of rebirth and renewal. This takes effort and energy to experience, however it will happen anyway, so we may as well acknowledge and encourage the process of saying our goodbyes so that we can welcome new experiences and attitudes.
To assist us with this process, on Thursday, may 1st, Venus and Pluto trine in the Earth signs of Taurus and Capricorn, suggesting practical and grounded interactions, trust and sharing. Intense merging brings valuable change. Then on Friday, May 2nd, Saturn ends a period of Retrograde that began back on December 19, covering the degrees of 9 Virgo back to 2 Virgo. Check these degrees to see where, from May 2 until August 2, you can move forward with details and patterns of organization that may have kept things somewhat bogged down since the start of the Retrograde in December.
Then on Monday, May 5, the next Lunar Cycle begins at 8:18am, at 16 degrees of Taurus. The Sabian Symbol for Taurus 16 is An Old Man Attempting Vainly to Reveal Mysteries. This symbol is about uncompromising integrity toward higher vision and unshakable determination to dramatize the vision. It is an odd, negative symbol but it is concerned with the need to share whatever may be the ultimate substance of selfhood, and represents a revolt against inertia which threatens the very core of selfhood.
This symbol is a good start to the lunar cycle that brings us toward the second Scorpio Full moon this year, on the 19th of May, a two week time frame to encourage a strengthening of self and a time to help each other with this experience, culminating on the Full Moon with a sharing of even deeper secrets and intimacies. A perfect foundation for the Beltane season.
